In order to distract myself from yet another ROTTEN day, full of tears, headaches and math tests, I have done three things.
First: I took one of those ubiquitous quizzies. See?

take the nerd test.

Then, I listened to these two songs: Through With You, and Harder to Breathe, both by Maroon 5. I recommend.

Finally, I typed up my Villanelle. Forgive it, it has not been approved or beta'd yet. Is just a whim.

Grass Grows at Night

Love, light, and the trees hold the sky
(please, don't be gentle just for my sake)
I'd rather you leave than I see you lie.

Smile, touch me, and tell me you're mine
(the land gathers up and melts into lake)
Love light, then the trees hold the sky.

Fall back into sleep, watch the wind sigh,
(in my dreams I hold you, but dreaming is fake)
I'd rather you leave than I see you lie.

I'd swim oceans for you, or at least I would try
(let you equal me, and your fortune I'd make)
Love is light, and the trees hold the sky.

Your hand's on my arm, and you tell me good-bye
(the sun shines forever, the ice always breaks)
I'd rather you leave than I see you lie.

The river is quick and the clouds sometimes cry
(grass grows at night and makes my heart ache)
I'd rather you leave than I see you lie,
Love isn't light, but the trees hold the sky.

I know, I know, is rhyming. But is cool anyway, right? Right?

*sigh*
